A refugee is a person who is forced to flee his or her country to escape war or persecution. Often, refugees have been victim to unspeakable atrocities and find themselves in a foreign place with little more than their hope for a brighter future.

According to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, Georgia resettles approximately 2,500 refugees annually. In its more than 20 years, RWN has served more than 5,000 women from over 60 countries, many of whom have gone on to become college graduates, entrepreneurs, and community leaders.
