Special announcement from our executive director…
Re: Response to current Executive Orders for RWN Supporters
Dear Friends,
The new administration's intention of pausing all federal grants, loans and contracts has brought tremendous uncertainty to our ability to continue to serve the refugee and immigrant women and their families in Atlanta.
For over 25 years, Refugee Women’s Network (RWN) has been a cornerstone of support, empowering immigrant and refugee women and their families. Now, as we face new challenges—including recent executive orders that directly impact our team, neighbors, and community—our commitment remains unwavering.
These actions may attempt to silence those seeking safety, dignity, and opportunity, but they will never weaken our resolve. We stand firm in our mission, determined to uplift and amplify the voices that deserve to be heard.
Now, we need you.
Join us in this vital and urgent work. Your support—whether through your time, resources, or advocacy—ensures we can continue providing critical services like emergency assistance, housing, food, and career development. Together, we can meet these challenges head-on and build a stronger, more compassionate community.
Here’s how you can make an impact today:
Donate: Visit riwn.org to contribute and help us create immediate change.
Volunteer: Sign up to lend your time and talents to our cause.
Spread the Word: Share our mission and work with friends, family, and your network.
Save the Date: Join us for International Women’s Day Dinner on March 7th, 6–9 PM.
The time is now. Together, we can transform challenges into opportunities, creating a future rooted in compassion, strength, and hope.
In solidarity,
Sushma Barakoti, Executive Director and the RWN Team
